# Be Part of the Restoration Help Fund Traps & Trees
As part of the Pākehō Restoration Project, we’re on a long-term mission to regenerate 13 hectares of native forest.
New Zealand’s native species evolved without mammalian predators. Today, animals like rats, stoats, and possums put constant pressure on fragile ecosystems — impacting native forest regeneration and wildlife.
Every dollar from our tours is reinvested into this work — but restoring an ecosystem takes time, effort, and ongoing support.
Every donation or sponsorship helps us accelerate this work — through pest control traps and native planting.

## Help Fund Native Tree Planting
Planting native trees is a key part of restoring the forest — but it’s more than just putting a seedling in the ground.
Young plants need ongoing care to survive and thrive. This includes releasing (clearing grasses and weeds around each plant) and targeted spraying to control invasive species that would otherwise outcompete new growth.
Without this work, many seedlings struggle to establish, slowing regeneration.
Around **NZ$10** supports the planting and ongoing care of one tree. Your donation helps fund this work and ensures long-term success.
## Sponsor a Trap or Contribute Towards One
We use a range of different traps across the property because, unfortunately, no single trap works effectively for every possum or rodent.
Our trapping network includes AT220 automatic traps, Trappinators and Flipping Timmys, each suited to different areas and pest-control needs.
The traps vary in price, from around $60 through to $600, plus the ongoing cost of lure and maintenance.
By sponsoring a trap, or contributing towards one, you’re directly helping us reduce pest numbers and protect the native birds, wildlife and regenerating forest on the property.
